Upstream Tech Partners with NOAA's Office of Water Prediction

We're excited to announce that Upstream Tech has signed a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) with NOAA's Office of Water Prediction (OWP) — a milestone that marks a new chapter for AI-based water prediction in the United States.

Through this agreement, HydroForecast will be deployed at many priority locations selected across all 13 NOAA River Forecast Center regions, spanning diverse hydrologic regimes including unregulated flood forecast basins, snowmelt-driven watersheds, glacial systems, coastal headwaters, and Bureau of Reclamation reservoir inflows. The collaboration will demonstrate how AI-based streamflow forecasting can expand capabilities and improve forecast accuracy within NOAA's National Water Model and Flood Inundation Mapping frameworks — directly supporting NOAA's mission to build a weather-ready nation better equipped to manage risks from flooding and drought.
